Welcome! My name is Molly Neyland and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I am the founder and owner of Emerald Counseling, PLLC. I was born and raised in Houston, TX. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Psychology at Texas A&M University in 2017. After college, I went to the University of St. Thomas in Houston to complete a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019. Since then, I completed supervised hours to become a fully licensed LPC. I am also EMDR trained, which is a type of therapy that treats trauma.
I have worked with various groups during my clinical experience. I have experience working with single mothers and their children, children in a school setting from K-5th grade and 7th-8th grade, individual clients, leading group counseling, family therapy, couples counseling, etc.
I am passionate about the importance mental health plays in our lives. I believe everyone deserves the chance to experience the therapeutic relationship and growth that comes from it. I hope that you feel comfortable to reach out to me and I can answer any questions you may have.
At Emerald Counseling, the name holds deep personal and symbolic meaning. "Emerald" honors my Irish heritage—often referred to as the Emerald Isle—and reflects a connection to my roots that brings a sense of grounding and identity to my work. The emerald stone itself is known for its healing properties, representing renewal, growth, and emotional balance. These qualities mirror the heart of the therapeutic process, where healing, transformation, and self-discovery are central. This name serves as a meaningful foundation for the care and intention I intend to bring to each session.
